Old San Juan: A Diary of Design Inspiration

During a recent trip to Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, I discovered that Spanish Colonial architecture lures you in with its pastel colored buildings, tiled roof lines, polished clay tiles, ornate balconies, and stone sculptures. The fortress sandstone walls surrounding the old city are joined with beautiful water views and mountains in the distance. Island life becomes surreal.
